Knox County Commission and Knox County School Board Minutes
Has anyone else noticed that KCSB hasn't updated (on website) their meeting minutes since 10/3/2007? I checked the county commission website recently and it hasn't been updated since last fall. I would love for a draft of the minutes from all meetings to be posted (labeled DRAFT) as soon as they are complete. This would help the community stay informed.
Parents are too busy to come to the meetings or watch the entire web cast, but yet they want to be informed. What are your ideas that our local government and school board can do to keep you better informed?
As we know with the sunshine law, officials can't meet and deliberate. But they need a way to ask questions. How about a blog for the commissioners and school board members. Wouldn't it be great to have them debate via blog for all of us to read? This would contribute to open government and give them a chance to get all the questions on the table before the meetings. I am amazed how many questions are asked of the materials presented. If they had a chance to get that information in advance, they would be able to accomplish more and have shorter meetings. I would guess everyone would be in favor of that.
