A.L. Lotts teacher named East TN Teacher of the Year
KNOXVILLE - An A.L. Lotts Elementary School teacher has been named the East Tennessee Teacher of the Year by the state Department of Education.
Fourth-grade teacher Resa Byrd was recognized Thursday at a banquet in Nashville.
The overall 2010 Tennessee Teacher of the Year award went to Patty Kiddy, a Selmer Elementary School first-grade teacher in McNairy County.
The Middle Tennessee grand division winner is Barbara Hills, a fourth-grade teacher at Dibrell Elementary School in McMinnville.
The three were chosen from among nine finalists statewide.
