I thoroughly support you and your comments, Lori. I would encourage you to become active in the saveoursummers.org campaign. We need dedicated Moms like you to help educate parents about the dire need for their personal involvement in the local schools and more crucially in the local school board and administration. The only way to affect positive change within our classrooms is by going to the top, the Knox County Administration and tell them what we want, and not accept anything less than total involvement with the school system on every level.

Welcome to school matters, Breadboxmom! I wish more parents would get involved, take a stand, and support public education. There is power in numbers to change things. We've got to get back to focusing on our students rather than on "the test!"

About Me:
I am a Christian mother of three children, have been married for 17 years. I am very concerned about the direction our schools are taking. I am taking a stand to keep God in our country verses excluding Him . I firmly believe that our children are heading down dangerous territory if we, as Christian parents, do not stand up for what our nation was founded upon. We need to be positive role models in our communities and especially in our public schools! Others should see that we are different... but in a good, positive way. We must encourage our teachers and students by our kindness and gentle spirit... we must exhibit a love and concern for others without "shoving" our faith down their throats.
