I am sure it does make it harder for some students. My daughters have not had a problem with it so far. The only classes that they have been offered that were year round was this past year at HVA there was a combined year round AP English/US History.

I agree. Some students take a math class fall semester one school year and don't take their next one until Spring Semester the following school year. Therefore, some students could go longer than a calendar year without a math class.

Generally, that is the case. However several high schools have freshman core classes all year (English, Algebra, (could be Geometry if they had Algebra as an eighth grader), Biology, World History) and their electives are semester classes.

Block scheduling is 4 classes per semester. Ideally two core classes and two electives. You finish a subject in one semester.
