i admire your dedication, as well! i want so badly for my children to be able to get a good education in the public schools and am avoiding private, as long as i can. it saddens me to think of how far away our schools have gotten from what really matters in the lives of our children! teachers have opportunities every day to make such a positive influence on our children if only given the time and space... not just being consumed with test scores and how they measure up to other schools. i mean, what do we really desire for our kids to become? educated, yes, but also independent, self-assured, positive role models who will in turn become outstanding leaders in our communities and government. we must step out and take back what we rightfully deserve for our kids!
i don't have alot of time for political influence right now but i am very interested and would love to stay informed. i am on a commitee for "reach them to teach them". you ought to check it out. it sounds right down your alley, too! it is going to be a county-wide event held at the tn. theater on tues. nov 13. we are taking steps now to change our community! come join us!
